immergut festival!
Hey all. I just got back to Oslo from the first official WATERS show. It was at this awesome little festival called Immergut, about an hour and a half outside of Berlin. I was a little nervous, but mostly excited to play all these new songs for all these people that had never heard any of them, but the audience was SO amazing. So supportive, and most importantly - SO damn fun. It made me even more excited to get back on the road and start playing regularly. Here are some photos from the trip.
Here’s the awesome artist trailer area..
Here’s me with the band, scoping out where we would play later that night.
We were joined onstage by the wonderful Marte Solbakken on backup vocals, who also took most of these pictures.
We also had the pleasure of having the amazing Bruse Rognlien on bass. He’ll be joining us for the Wye Oak tour and NYC shows too. And he really is a fantastic bass player and a fantastic dude to be around.
Vocal arrangements are super important for the live set this time around, and we had intensive pre-show warm-up and rehearsals. Here is me guiding things, making a very strange singing-face.
The show went better than I ever would have hoped (especially for a *first show*), and after we retreated to our lodging for the night. In the morning, there was a classic “band photo” setting, so we had to appease the rock gods, and do the obligatory shot, even though i was in the middle of brushing my teeth.
That’s all for now. Feeling so pumped about our upcoming tour!!!
